Tuesday morning at 4:30am, #China successfully launched its Chang'e-5 robotic spacecraft.

Its mission? To bring back rock samples from the moon. It's been *more than 40 years* since the Americans and Soviets brought back samples for analysis.

The Chang'e-5 probe, named after the ancient Chinese goddess of the moon, will seek to collect material that can help scientists understand more about the moon's origins. Through the task of sampling and returning, the mission will also help China enhance its engineering know-how for further space exploration.

The latest.
